Michael Davis

Chief Executive Officer

A native and resident of Berkeley, California, Michael Davis has experience as a professional athlete, as well as a black belt martial arts instructor in Tae Kwon Do. A student-athlete on scholarship at University of California at Berkeley, he graduated with a BS degree in Business Administration with honors in finance and marketing. A three-year starter for the Golden Bears football team, he was elected Captain in his senior year. Upon graduation in 1994, he tried out as a free agent in the NFL. For the next two years he played in the Canadian Football League for both the Memphis Maddogs and the Sacramento Goldminers as an outside linebacker

A recipient of several honors, 1994 he received the Louise Patterson African-Male Award for the Most Outstanding Student-Athlete at UC Berkeley. In 1995, he received the Martin Luther King, Jr. Fellowship Award to attend Northeastern University, where he subsequently received his MBA degree in Finance and Investment.

In 1997, Mr. Davis was hired by Texas Instruments (TI) to be apart of the world renowned Financial Development Program. As a financial manager within the program, Mr. Davis worked around the world at various TI sites implementing and managing financial controls and strategies.

In 1999, Mr Davis was a headline panelist at the 29th Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference in Washington, DC. The purpose of the panel was to expand on the critical knowledge that “credit unions bring power and wealth to the community.” Other panelist included: Yolanda Wheat, Former National Credit Union Association Board member; Michael Hale, President/CEO of Langley Federal Credit Union; Rita Haynes, CEO/Manager of Faith Community United Credit Union and Congresspersons Barbara Lee – California and Stephen Tubbs Jones – Ohio

In 1998, Mr. Davis created the business consultant firm that is known to be My Brother’s Keeper Management Group (MBK Management Group). In 2004, MBK was profiled in the Dallas Morning News as the leading sport management company in the Dallas Metroplex area. A federal and state securities licensed broker, Member FINRA, he works in conjunction with Money Concepts Capital Corp. and is a Certified Funds Specialist (CFS). All securities through Money Concepts Capital Corp. Member FINRA / SPIC. GWSM is an independent firm not affiliated with Money Concepts Capital Corp. Mr. Davis heads up the firm’s financial planning and business management departments.

A president of MBK Management Group, he heads the firm’s financial planning and business management departments.


Matt Lipton

Advisory Council

Mr. Lipton, age 47, has served as our sole officer and director since May 2012. Mr. Lipton is primarily responsible for implementing our business plan. With over 20 years of experience working in-house and with law firms, Mr. Lipton, has provided legal counsel and business advice to a wide array of companies, corporate managers, and investors, in a variety of corporate matters. Currently, Mr. Lipton serves as the managing attorney of The Lipton Law Firm, specializing in the provision of legal services to a wide array of corporate clients, with an emphasis on the health care and technology development markets. Prior to forming The Lipton Law Firm, Mr. Lipton was the CEO of the QuantuMed Group, a real estate development focused on transforming distressed retail real estate to medical office space. Before joining QuantuMed, Mr. Lipton served as General Counsel and Director of the Select Division of Sportexe Construction Services, an artificial turf company owned by a private equity fund. He joined Sportexe after serving as outside counsel while with Phillips & Reiter, PLLC, a Texas-based law firm specializing in the provision of outsourced general counsel services. Mr. Lipton was the managing attorney for the Dallas office of Phillips and Reiter. Prior to joining Phillips & Reiter, Mr. Lipton was a shareholder in Souter, Lipton & Luttrull, P.C., where he focused on corporate/transactional matters, with an emphasis on health care related transactions. Prior to the formation of this firm, Mr. Lipton spent 2005 in Phoenix, Arizona, serving as the President of DreamBrands, Inc., a start-up consumer products development company. During this time, he maintained an active practice with one of his fellow Souter, Lipton & Luttrull, P.C. shareholders. Mr. Lipton received his Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist School of Law in 1991.


Antoine Duncan

Chief Financial Officer

Antoine Duncan is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Texas with 3 years of Big 4 public accounting experience working in PwC’s financial services audit practice. He is also a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor with over 10 years of industry accounting experience in the banking, hospitality, pharmaceutical and software industries. His most recent job title is Senior Director of Accounting at RealPage, Inc. He started his own accounting and tax practice because he believes he has acquired the skills and experience to provide valuable knowledge to individuals and small business owners in the areas of accounting, business consulting, tax planning and preparation. Mr. Duncan began his education at the University of Missouri-Columbia where he was also a member of the football team. While attending Mizzou, he earned All Big XII honors as a defensive back in 2001 as well as earned his undergraduate degree in 2003. In 2004, he moved back to Texas and began working at McKesson Corporation, the #1 pharmaceutical distribution company in the US and abroad at the time. He spent a total of 5 years at McKesson Corporation, in which the last 2 1/2 years was spent as a SOX and Controls Auditor helping the accounts receivable, rebates and other back office functions achieve and maintain effective operating controls for compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002. While working at McKesson, he also attended graduate school at the University of Texas at Dallas where he earned a Master’s in Accounting and Information Management in 2009. Upon completion of his degree, he accepted an offer to work in PricewaterhouseCooper’s (PwC’s) Financial Services audit practice and passed the Uniform CPA Examination in August 2012.

In PwC’s audit practice, Mr. Duncan collaborated with clients so that the financial information they reported to the investing public and other stakeholders was clear and reliable. When fulfilling his role as an audit professional, by standing firm on quality and integrity, he had a direct impact on how well the world’s capital market system functioned. During his time at PwC, he gained an in depth knowledge of clients in the Alternative Investments industry. PwC’s alternative investments practice focuses exclusively on serving hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, funds of funds, higher education and not-for-profit organization endowments and related investment advisors. As a CPA and trusted business advisor, he is always looking to provide value beyond accounting and the preparation of a tax return. Tanner Wells

Senior Advisor

Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Tanner attended Parish Episcopal High School where he stood out as a captain of the football and basketball teams, as well as a member of the choir. After leading his football team to a state championship in 2010, Tanner received a scholarship to play football at Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. During his college athletic career, he was a three-time All-Conference player as well as an All-American his senior season. He also served as captain for two seasons while receiving his Bachelor of Science in Personal Finance. After graduating in 2015, Tanner returned to Dallas to accept a position as an analyst with IHS Markit. At IHS Markit he provided service and support for institutional clients working with syndicated loans. Tanner joined Genesis Financial in March of 2017 working passionately with individuals and families to provide customized and unique financial plans. Tanner believes his purpose is to work with people to allow them the financial freedom to pursue their goals and aspirations.

Office Manager

Lisa Stanford has been in the industry since 2006. She is committed to providing excellent service and loves to help people. She is a proud mother to 2 incredible children, and the Favorite Aunt to her nieces and nephews. She’s active in her community and participates in many local fundraisers, including Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society, Disabled American Veterans, and local Scholarship programs. She volunteered countless hours for the Police Athletic League over the years, and she is a past board member for Pop Warner Football and Cheer. People say she never meets a stranger, only friends she doesn’t know yet.
